Northwest Shoot

Post by Bear 45/70 »

Blaine and I are trying to set up a shoot in May. This is the advance notice. We are thinking either the 16th or 17th of May. The place will be Hoodsport, Wa. We want to do a BBQ along with the shoot since we will be at a private range. What say you NW shooters?

It's definitely a possibility. I have the big bore & pistol caliber silhouette state finals the 2nd-3rd and nothing else until the 23rd.
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

I'd love to guys, but I'm afraid that last silhouette shoot I did with Wind is going to be it for this year. I've got building projects and other things that are at the top of the priority list. I need a shop and believe me, I need a shop.

Hopefully next year my time will free up a little.

Man, I'd love to attend and meet a few more of y'all. I've met Wind, Geoff and Sure-shot - all top notch individuals. Timing might not work out but who knows.

The range is a small private range with a 25 yard pistol and 100 yard ranges with a covered shooting area on a concrete pad with a shooting bench. Shoot whatever you want to bring.

Since no one has said which day they prefer, I will choose the date in a day or so if there is no input. Saturday May 16th or Sunday May 17th are the choices. The problem with Sunday is there is no shooting until after 12:30 due to a church down the road.

Ok, I'm calling this shoot for Saturday, May 16th. Meet at Denny's in Shelton for breakfast (if you wish to) at 9 AM. Meet in the Fred Meyer parking lot, next door to the Denny's at 10:00 to 10:15. Leave for the range at 10:15. Shoot until dark if you want to. Directions available to both Denny's and the range, just PM or e-mail me.

Dennys is "A" Like Fred said. Wallace Kneeland exit. Go right. Thru first light, right into Fred Meyer Parking lot by the Denny's (Denny's lot is too small for me) Look for the crazy, bearded *** and that's Fred...I'm the moviestar looking guy.......

That's Wallace Kneeland Blvd. Now changed to Kneeland Blvd but the state Highway Dept. signage wasn't up to date as of today, but you never know when they might get something right for once. It is the 3rd and final exit for Shelton.

If you have Steel Targets, bring them. We'll have a shotgun trap. It's a 100 yd range, but you can set up stuff any distance out to that, and to the left, there is a 50' pistol range, but that's pretty close. I've been feeling pretty cocky with my Single Six, so I'm looking for some competition

US 101 You catch it in mid-town Olympia Off of I-5. Denny's is "A" on this map zoom in and out for details. The Denny's is about 30 min north of Oly, maybe a little closer.

Well, when we get a headcount, I'm going to supply brats and buns. Portable tables for guns/eating are a good idea.....water/pop icechest perhaps? What do you guys want besides brats? Tater salad and beans? It'll be easier with a final count, prolly....... Prayers for good weather always a perfect idea

levergun shoot up north with blaine & bear.
i was all set to go , picking out guns, loading ammo, etc.
and then this morning the wife says, by the way camporee is may 15.16.17.
dang-it.
for those who don't know , camporee is a district wide , troop strength , boy scout
skills competition. things such as camp craft, cooking, pioneering, orienteering,
tracking/stalking and lots of others are judged by a panel of scout leaders. also
into the mix goes attitude, living scout law/oath and other intangibles. my boy's troop
is very small but shows up in the running every year , they seem like a bunch of knotheads
sometimes but come through when it's on the line. i will be attending at least some of all three
days, so no trip for me. not a hardship really just a small disappointment.
i need to figure out that being in two places at one time thing.

good luck , pokey

also posted this by it's self, no carpool sorry.
