input on Ruger #1 B

I have a chance to buy a #1 B in o6 for a great price.Used but 100% beautiful wood 425.00
Have hunted with many bolt guns and currently my baby is a mint 336 in 35 Rem
Got an idea to use the # 1 for Montana deer/elk
Can I get some feed back regarding the gun /accuracy /pros and cons for Western hunting would be appreciated

Definitely buy at that price. If you don't like it, you should be able to easily sell it for a profit.

That is a STEAL!!! Those guns are deadly accurate/reliable as heck/
and will always be worth more than what you paid!!

I have one in 7mm mag but with the new Hornady 150gr SST@ 3100fps
basically that 06 is a 7mm as performance wise.

You can handload that gun to the very max and it will hold up.
Those droping blocks are fantastic,If you dont want it let me know and I will buy it.

ya, have heard that you can load em to max
My other toy is a Tikka 270 stainless that I am selling on gun broker. Shoots groups so small it looks like 1 hole but my faith in 270 is not great for elk and griz

Get it now! I've had three; a 1V in 7mm Remington Magnum, a 1A, and a 1RSI, both in 7mm Mauser. They are GREAT rifles.

You know that #1 will toss a 190gr Matchking
out the tube at 2900fps

She might kick a little, but it should reach way out there and touch somthing if need be.
And with the Pro Hunter Bullet you can take anything in North America.

In the past I HAD a #1B in 22-250 , a #1V in 220 an 25-06 and a #1H in 375 H&H MAG .

Now I have another #1V in 220 Swift , a #1V in 22-250AI , a #1B in 22 Hornet , a #1B in 243 WIN , a #1B in 257 Roberts and a #1B in 280 REM/ 7mm Express Remington . And am looking hard at a #1B in 6mm REM as we speak !

So need I even say what I think

Will run and buy it today . That 190 Sierra might just be what I use, Have not run any of those but 2900 sounds awesome !
Was alos thinking a 200 grain Nosler Accubond and try to get 2750 or so out of the long barrel.

OK ! Pics today when I figure out how to post here.. What a beautiful firearm. Trigger seems about 3 or 4 pounds and breaks like glass. Has the red recoil pad so I assume it is an early one.
Looks to be Turkish walnut it is so "grained"

well, pic problems. I have the camera set at lowest resolution[ has worked fine on Gun Broker] but when loading it here it stops after a few moments and says file is too big

Awesome rifle --- glad you got it at that price ---- (and how come i cant ever get any "good deals"

.270 has been proven to be a fine elk rifle many times, --- but i am with ya for Grizz. However -- much as i like the #1 Ruger, i would want follow up shot capability for those big bruins. This neing a levergun site, i would wholeheartedly recommend a Marlin 1895 or equiv. Winchester in any of their calibers(.444, ,450, .45-70) , or an 1895 Winnie in .405

Ya, with ya on second shot too except for one thing. I hunt with my buddy of 30 years and I figure I will make that one shot count and shoot him in the butt or leg so I can slow him down enough for the bear to catch.!

Was going to use the marlin 336 in 35 Rem for the close in huntin and use the #1 in the open country out there.
