OT - Range Report (kind of) - M1 Carbine
Decided to take "Boy Wonder" to the range today, and let him pick his posion. He asked to shoot his M1 Carbine made by Quality Hardware. This is a late WWII model that had been refurbished. I puchased it for my son from my Uncle, who was in the 29th ID during the War, from before D-Day, through that, and on through to V-E day.
Here's a picture of my son shooting it:
Yes, that is a scope on it. I know - sacriledge, but I had a mount that wasn't being used, and didn't want to put it on my Rockola M1 Carbine!
I think he enjoyed the session:
And especially the target (though I helped a bit with this one)!
Here it is. What a fun little gun to shoot.
That being said, it was the stinkiest ammo I have ever fired. Normally I love the smell of gunpowder, but this just reeked. I must be coming down with a cold.
Not much of a range report I know - because this was more for the fun of it than any serious shooting. Lucky little kid - has fired a bunch of guns and calibers I didn't have a chance to shoot until I was in my late teens or older!!!

Kid,
You have created a monster. (but, a good one) I was just about that same age when my Dad put an M-1 carbine in my hands and said, "shoot". That was about 1962. I ain't stopped since. Oh, I like the target your using!
I remember my Dad selling that M-1 a few years after I shot it. IIRC, he got $20 for it.------------Sixgun

There are few rifles that are more fun for a little guy/girl to fire and handle. When I was 12 I had a WW2 M1 carbine with 30 round mag. Life was good! Wish I had it back but it was stolen out of my Uncles house.
But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8
