The 95 in 7.62x54r is one of my prized posessions. Sweet shooter and kicks like a Moscow Mule. That butt plate is a killer. I'd love to see an SRC in 7.62x54 and bring back the 303 Brit. And a shotgun butt!
Just for kicks a 92 in 45 AR or 10mm( I know it won't work w/o a rim)

I think the 260 Remington is alot better than the 243 for deer.Another good one would be the 6.5x55 mm Sweet in a BLR.I think the 6.5 mm is very underrated in America. The 338 is very popular in Alaska. The 325 wsm BLR just didnt cut the cake in Alaska either.I wonder how maNY blr's THEY MADE in 325?
All you guys asking for a .357 max..did you know that a .360 dan wesson will fit a 92 action?? I can load and feed a .360 but it won't chamber..it needs to be reamed for a longer case..I am considering rechambering mine..and it will still shoot .357 mag..the 357 max is to long for the 92 action..
As for marlin 94's they can't handle modern pressures ,the puma 92 can .

WHAT A GREAT QUESTION! Since I have seen it in a custom lever it probably should not count but I like the 35 Whelen. My second choice (which I have never seen) would be a 338/06. Both would be great on in an 1895 Winchester or a BLR. As for tubular magazines; I would pick??? 500 Linebaugh (has that been done?)

I just read about the 327 Mag.I think it would be awesome in a lever gun.I wonder if anyone here has made a 357 maxium in a model 94 yet?

probably was a winchester 1887 or winchester 1901;SINGLESHOT wrote:Would like a 12 guage lever gun myself, my grand dad had a old lever gun in 10 guage if I remember correctly. I think it was a Browning but not sure.
the 1887 is available as a repro right now, in 12 gauge

and they are nice [ i have one, as well as an original 10 in the model 1901]
would be neat to have a lever action 20 guage; dont think they were ever comercially available but marlin did make a few of the old model [in the 1890's] 1895 marlin in 20 gauge but never went past prototype phase.
