Cool chamberings in tube-loading levers (and yes I know I'm leaving out tons...)
Nostalgic step downs from your .30-30 in power, but really fun to shoot - quiet, pest killers, and good target guns; cheap to shoot.
.25-20
.32-20 (especially cool because you can get handguns to match - my favorite
![Mr. Green :mrgreen:](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
)
Medium-power short and long action rounds - both good deer killers. Neither does much your .30-30 won't already do.
.357 Magnum (can load 'down' to .32-20, .38 special levels)
.35 Remington (I have one of these because I
don't have a .30-30
![Embarassed :oops:](./images/smilies/icon_redface.gif)
)
Higher-power short action 'pistol' rounds with matching handguns available; still similar to your .30-30 in overall power.
.44 Remington Magnum (my favorite
![Mr. Green :mrgreen:](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
)
.45 Colt
Higher-power long action 'rifle' rounds - really 'big medicine' vs. your .30-30 - you'll want one eventually.
.405 Winchester
.444 Marlin (you can use same bullets as .44 Magnum - my favorite
![Mr. Green :mrgreen:](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)
)
