35 remington in a lever gun

Post by two bit okie »

While I prefer to stick with 44 mag since I already have 6 of them, can the cast bullets for a 357 mag be used in 35 remington in either winchester or marlin.

In the Marlin, yes. In the Winchester, they never made a gun for the 35 Remington except the ultra rare Model 70.

To save yourself aggravation, stick to jacketed bullets and just use them for plinking as they will come apart on an animal if driven to rifle velocities.

Cast will work fine but that will take a chapter to explain, especially with micro-groove rifling-------------------Sixgun

You'd do better to use .359" 200 grain bullets designed for the 35 Rem. You can load them using normal load data or just a bit less - shoot for 1900 fps or so velocity. I recommend Lee Liquid Alox as it works great for me!

The pistol bullets will also shoot just fine but size them .359" and don't push them over that same velocity - you do need to check and see if they will cycle though before loading a bunch up...
