OT: Feral Cats
I think I have feral cats on my land up north. What is the best way to bait to see if they are there? Only have 2-3 days a month to be there so am looking for any suggestions to find proof or lack thereof. Was going to bring some litter from friends cat when it is in heat, but never seem to get it when i am going up. Any suggestions?
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

cat food, with cat nip in live traps. or use trail cameras with the bait if your trips are too spread out.

Re: OT: Feral Cats
Verify they are there.
Live trap them and have them vaccinated, spayed and neutered.
Turn them loose where they were.
They will not produce more, and they will protect their territory keeping others out.
If you kill them or otherwise remove them that will create space and others will move in to replace them.
Of course, you could just leave them alone. There is so many hazards in a cats life they won't live too long anyway.

Re: OT: Feral Cats
It's my observation that feral cats don't discourage the presence of other feral cats, they just continue to multiply if the enviroment has enough food to sustain the population.
Get a can of tuna or any cat food, lace it with DeCon. Cats aren't smart enough to figure it out if you leave it overnight or for a month.
Other than that get a brick of .22LR and enjoy the hunt.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.
History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.
