Sadly, "Political Correctness" is the most powerful religion in America, and it has ruined our society.

I had a couple friends who did that with a vest. I think they only used a 22LR though. They were crazy. Kinda like Abbott and Costello. I think they're still alive too!

I'm glad somebody is willing to make something that does the job and I'm even glad they're willing to prove it.
Did I mention that I'm glad THEY are willing to prove it?

Brave lads they be, but the marketing......I mean, who's gonna buy the "World War I Vest" Sounds like a 6 year old invented it.

Reminded me of a couple local good ol' boys that had an old military flack jacket and thought it was regular body armor. Genius #1 shot genius #2 with a 9mm. Genius #1 went to prison, genius #2 went to the morgue.

It may seem crazy; but for us old timers, Richard Davis (the owner of Second Chance who shoots himself regularly) is quite a hero. He put the affordable bullet proof vest into the hands of regular working cops who paid out of their pockets for his product, starting in the 70's. And by demonstrating his product, he convinced me and many other officers that his product could indeed save our lives.
It wasn't until many years later, and after dozens of officer's lives were saved, that our police departments starting furnishing this item to their officers. If you go to the site, you will see that over 1,000 lives have been saved by this brand of bullet resistant vest, alone.
I was the second officer at my county sheriff's department to wear Mr. Davis' product, at a time when the other manufacturers priced their product way out of my humble salary range. Although my vest never had to stop a bullet, I sure appreciated having it on more than once. And when I moved to another agency in a larger city, I worked with one officer whose life was indeed saved by Mr. Davis' vest. I still have the photograph of the captured bullet within the vest's fibers.
Hand salute to Mr. Davis, crazy or not!
