Great old lever photo!

Post by rangerider7 »

This is a neat photo taken in Cheyenne Wyoming. I think the shoes give it away as studio prop photo. What do you think?

I agree..Right! The shoes.. The overly long pants.. The jacket don't fit too good either.. Fun pic tho..

How long would you guess the barrel is on that lever gun?

Yup - and the man is standing on a rug which curls up against a painted backdrop. Much less distinct surroundings than the subject. But a great photo!

Neat picture of the guns! I wonder if the young man had ever held one before?

You take the guns, coat, holster, cartridge belt, and hat and put them on auction in Cody or Mesa today they would bring in the excess of $35,000. IMHO P.S. I forgot the "matching" pants, make it $40,000.

[quote="rangerider7"] I think the shoes give it away as studio prop photo.

Not to mention that he has no cartridges in the belt, is pointing the rifle at his own head, is wearing a doofus looking hat and has the wooliest caterpillar I've ever seen crawling across his lip.

If it weren't for staged shots like that, we wouldn't have very many photos of the guns or the gear. I'm glad they wanted to play dress up!
