My son is a Cadet at the Air Force Academy. The place is crawling with deer, and there are some monster bucks. There are a very limited number of bowhunting permits available, but that's not how this big mulie was taken.
He's also the Cadet in Charge of the Outfitters club, and when another cadet hit a big mulie in his Jeep, my son got called to help out.
The outfitters club got together to skin and butcher the deer. My son has a friend who is a budding taxidermist, so he sent the cape and head to his buddy. He picked it up at Thanksgiving, and now it's on the wall in my shop.
That's a Beauty! I hope your son gets some time to bowhunt that place. I was at Ft Carson down I-25 a bit and that place was the same, plenty of elk too. Thanks, Tom

Thanks, He's almost finished up there. He graduates in May. I don't think he realizes yet how much he's going to miss Colorado. He will likely be in Oklahoma or Texas the next 18 months or so, in flight school.
These are some more of his pics.
