new Browning take down lever rifles

Anyone have one of these? Is this a good buy ,wish I had bought one back in 2007/8 type rifles?

The odd thing is that when you release the lever to takedown, you pull the barrel directly out instead of it being half threaded like normal takedowns. It instead has just a groove cut in it for the lock mechanism to latch into. but the barrel fits the reciever so tight that you have to be perfectly aligned just to get it started on reassembly!

That's the main reason I'm unimpressed.

(OTOH, I WOULD like my .357 and any .45-70 to be a TD...)

I saw these announced about the time I was ending my short spurt of very minor prosperity. To get one now would mean a trade, and no trades these days are without pain and regret. I do like the concept!

The rifle comes with a Scout Scope from the factory. Been looking at them myself.

I thought they were only drilled and tapped for the scout scope..The one I was looking at was T&P but didn't have the mount or scope...Browning does sell the mount seperatly..

I would be sorely tempted with interchangable barrels in
243, 7-08, 308, 338 Fed, 358 Win or 25-06, 270, 30-06, 35 Whelen. While they are at it throw both a Straight and pistol grip receiver in the combo.

Been wanting one in 308.
