Awesome...wonder if it was his own gun or the studios???

I noticed that too. Maybe a button magazine?Ben_Rumson wrote:Is it me, or is the mag tube missing, or a half mag mod? Neat pic BTW
I wonder what tribe he belongs too? Sure doesn't look like any of the South Western Indians.

His hair style looks Nez Perce to me.
I believe the mag tube is there, its silvered out from wear, but if you blow it up, the dark line below the barrel is the shadow and blue left in the protected spot between the barrel and mag tube. You can see the faint line of the bottom of the mag tube below also.

That's a cool pic, Rangerrider. You always seem to come up with those neat old pictures. Thanks. On Wednesay I'm going to go get my descendant's ID from the Colville Confederated Tribes. Now, all I need to do is find another 1/8 of documentable native blood and I would be able to enroll. Really, not for anything other than the hunting.

Rangerider - Yes sir, another incredible photo. Are there any details regarding the date of the photo?
Malamute may be right; it could be a Nez Perce from the northwest. Otherwise, I'd guess maybe a Pawnee or a Crow Indian. I've seen photos of several men from each tribe with that sort of "pompadour" hair. I understand they used bear fat as an 1870's equivalent of Brylcreem, to get that effect.
Either way, you've found another beauty. Thank you for sharing this with everybody. - DixieBoy
