A buddy of mine that I'm trying ease into the shooting sports wanted to go to a local gun show today. I've been burned out on these local shows for a while. Usually a bunch of overpriced run-of-the-mill stuff and table after table of t-shirts and three dollar switch blades. He talked me into going today anyway.
Not much for leverguns. There were a couple real nice Pre-64 94s in the $600-700 range. Might not have been too bad had I any money. I also drooled over a pretty nice 1893 Marlin for $1200.
I was surprised to see a pretty good supply of AR's for sale. Most way overpriced, but there were some for under $900.
My buddy did manage to sell those black powder revolvers we were talking about the other day.
I don't know why I bother.

I know what you mean. I went to one yesterday in Saratoga Springs NY. Actually, there were a fair number of leverguns there. Most of the M94s were in the $600-$700 range. I saw a couple of .32 Winchester Special 94s (for some reason, I want one) in the $650 range. There was also a Savage M99 in .358 Winchester for $1500. A tad too pricey for me. (Since we've had our daughter, almost everything has become "a tad too pricey.")

I went to one in Denver today and was so annoyed I complained to the management. 10 bucks to get in and out of the 100 tables only 40 or so had guns on them. There was jewlery, art, furnitute, comcast tv, glass cleaning stuff, used paperbacks etc etc etc. I told them I would never come to one of their shows again.

Did he get a good price on them?TedH wrote: My buddy did manage to sell those black powder revolvers we were talking about the other day.

I no longer "bother to attend local shows, either. Too much overpriced junk, plus candy, beef jerky and the usual crapola.

Yeah, I think he did ok. The same fella bought all 5 of them. Two of them were pretty rough shape, parts guns probably. The other three were good shape. He got $400 for the lot. He also sold the Stoeger Luger .22 for $250, which I thought was fair. The only one he has left is the Uberti 1875 45 Colt. He's going to bring it over tomorrow and let me take some good pics so I can post it in the classifieds here. I need to get it sold for him before I talk myself into needing it.Ysabel Kid wrote:Did he get a good price on them?TedH wrote: My buddy did manage to sell those black powder revolvers we were talking about the other day.
