OT - ZZ Top (A Few Pictures Added)
Getting ready to go to the ZZ Top concert at the Hard Rock this evening
My wife bought me tickets for Christmas (She likes them too) Have not been to a ZZ concert for probably 25 years or so, or any concert for that matter. Gotta love Southern Rock and the Texas Triplets.

Have fun.
I saw them and Kansas in concert 7-8 years ago.
Only concert that I was ever too that had a baby changing station.

I heard someone robbed that little place outside La Grange.

The first album was best - it says ZZ Top's 1st Album on the front. "Brown Sugar" is on this L.P., and makes the Stones "Brown Sugar" sound like a flatulent mule.

I was surprised by this post.
Re: OT - ZZ Top
I first saw them on the ""Tejas" tour. "Fandango" was one of my first records.
Kind regards,

Along with Ozzie, Zep, Tull, and the Moody Blues, thats my kind of music. I like it when ZZ spins their guitars on their belt buckles

Re: OT - ZZ Top
The ZZ concerts have some really great vizual effects. The last one I went to was the "Recycler" tour in the 90's. Along about the middle of the show a clamshell crane picked up the "Rev. Billy" and Dusty and dropped them into the top of the "crusher" (the stage was set up like a junkyard with piles of parts and old cars with flapping hoods everywhere). Then a huge flat "electromagnet" moved over drummer Frank Beard and "WHAM", dropped right down on him. I swear it looked real. When they hoisted it up, a ragged glob was stuck to it that looked like Beetle Baily or the Sad Sack after their Sarge had gotten through with them. It then moved over the "crusher" and dropped this mess into it too. About 5 seconds later the door on the bottom of the "crusher" burst open and a little car came out with the guys in their velvet suits to do "Sharp Dressed Man"! They also had a " Neckid' Cowgirl floatin' around the ceiling" with a laser during the appropriate song among other effects. Man what a great show. They probably have even better effects now. Long live ZZ Top!

It was a blast! The Joint at the hard Rock is a small venue, up close and personal, no fancy props or anything, we had great seats, the wife did good. Saw a few old friends and had a great time. Took a few pictures and one small video.
Kinda strange checking out the crowd, I guess most of use grew up, sorta
This was the third time I have seen old Billy, Dusty & Frank, there still crank-in em out!
Wish you all was there.

Hippies would not have anything to do with me, owned too many guns; lost out on lots of chances with young ladies
