How about a Limited Edition set of Leverguns

Post by Rusty »

I've been thinking ever since TedH posted about the baby Browning he picked up. Years ago I saw a set of three Colt automatics. A .25, a.380, and a .45 all in a set.

How about if we put together a set of Marlins... a 219 Zipper, a .30-30 and a .45-70. We could get them with special serial numbers and in like configurations to make the set. Maybe a 20", a 22", and a 24" barrel.

Any more special features? I'm partial to Blue steel if it's going to be a classic.

For the hyphenated-cartridge crowd:

.32-20 in 1894
.30-30 in 336
.45-70 in '1895'

For the more-modern crowd:

.357 in 1894
.35 Rem in 336
.444 in '444'

For those who like shiny things...

.44 Magnum in 1894SS
.444 Marlin in 336XLR

Yes, I did... and was horribly disappointed in the response from the manufacturers. Marlin said they'd entertain an order of S.O. guns if backed by someone like Davidson's but would NOT alter their standard requirements. (Like the crossbolt safety, etc.)

I doubt there's any way you could get away with out getting the cross bolt safety. After thinking today the .32-20 might be better than the .219.

Manufacturing is done to legal standards - the facts! You would do it to if it was your business.
