Following on from the post about Uberti 73s butt plates I found this link which may be helpful in knowing how old your Italian replica levergun etc etc may be.

Thanks for posting that. I've always wondered what the various marks meant on my Uberti. Now I know. My IJ was made in 1975.

Thanks for the link.I found out my gun was made in 1974 making her 35 years old.She works flawlessly like the day she was made making her a tribute not only to the 73 design but also to Uberti workmanship.Funny thing is before I bought her I wasn t much interested in a 73 but after handling and shooting one, I plan on eventually getting a 44/40 and a 76 in 45/60
