Then I remembered about a pheasant I got a couple of days ago and so set about preparing our evening meal.
Placing the diced breast meat in a small tin on the log stove in the kitchen I added olive oil and a crumbled stock cube.
I then layered sliced mushroom, peppers, onion, garlic, finely chopped broccoli and sliced rings of leaks.
Finnished off with melted mature chedder cheese on top I reason that'll I'll get another kiss tonight
With a good two hours of light left on this cold freezing foggy day I grabbed the Greener and dog. Grabbed the game bag and a hand full of shells loaded with an oz and 1/8 of 61/2 shot.
With in a short walk from home I had shot a crow and found numerous pheasant in a field of lupins that have not been harvested.
I took four flushed pheasant for about eight shots or so, I missed the same amount and some got up as Tia was retrieving to hand.
It was a blessing and a surprise to have such luck, but it was tainted with Tia being naughty! She decided to forget her name and pretend to not hear the whistle
Here 's the pic.

On the way home I passed a neighbour whom has some hens and asked her if she would like to trade some pheasant breast for some eggs.
Eggs for my breakfast on the first then
Nath.
