Rimless cases in a Win 94

In one of his articles Paco mentioned that with some rifles he could feed and cycle rimless cases in a 94BB in 356 (emphasis is mine).

Is it possible, perhaps with modifications, to feed and cycle rimless cases in a Win 94 ?

I don't know about the 94 but I am currently working on a 92 win that somebody converted to .30 carbine and it didn't function.

Ok, after overcoming the feeding, extraction & headspacing problems you're still limited to pressure limits in the action, what's the upside? Without exception, I don't believe you'd be able to reliably function both rimmed & rimless version of the same cartridge.

Pressure limits are a given. Headspacing will be on the shoulder. I dont mind using only rimless cases if that was a limitation of the conversion.

The upside is cheaper cases. Imported loading components here are quite expensive, especially in what are considered exotic calibers (like 307/356/444).

While "functioning" ie: feeding from a magazine may be a problem in some rifles, the cases (.358 Win./356 Win.; 308 Win/.307 Win.) are dimensionally identical, with the exception of the rim. SAAMI max average pressure for each pair is also identical.

.444 Marlin cases, if you can get them are the perfect basis for either of the rimmed cartridges you want to use. Many many years ago, we used cut down .444 cases to create what may have been the first (or among the first...) versions of the .307 & .356 especially for the '94 Winchester rifle.
