I've developed loads for all my pistol calibers, both straight cased and bottle necked, using 2400. I also have developed loads for my straight cased magnums using VV N110.
Here's my question.....
The N110 loads are several tenths of a grain heavier than 2400, but give the same velocities. None of my loads are near the max. My accurate .357 load is only 13.9gr of N110 under a 125gr JHP......about 1300fps. I cannot find any N110 load data for bottle necked cases (32-20), but would be curious to see what the accuracy potential of N110 would be.
9.5 grains of 2400, in my 32-20's, is my accurate load. I started the load at 8.0gr. Would it be safe to start at 8.5-9.0gr of N110 or is N110 not adviseable for bottle necked cases?
Thanks

Load development question
I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.
Re: Load development question
Doing some cross referencing it seems n110 is close to H lil'gun. Hodgen suggest 8grn for a 85grn jacketed and 71/2grn for a 100grn jacketed out of a revolver.
I'd give it a go but I would start at 71/2 to 8 first, I can not see it blowing anything up. Check the brass after ofcourse and it ain't much of a bottle neck really.

Re: Load development question
Sorry, I don't know how I missed it first time around but in the speer No 12 it lists a;
100grn Speer HP @ 1667fps out of a Marlin94cl 22" from;
10 1/2grn of vN110 MAX,
8 1/2grn is the START/lowest charge for 1483fps in their test gun as above.
So you were correct

Of course if I had looked at the "High Pressure" instead of the "Low Pressure" loads I would have seen the obvious also.
