OT-Knife display
Finally figured out a way to display a few of the knives I have. Well, more like my SiL figured it out...

JerryB, the three in the stand and the one on the right of the picture are handmade. Those four came from an older gentleman at this past Tulsa show. As near as I can tell the handles are Axis deer or something like it. There's no markings on the blades and the only marking of ANY sort that I can find on any of them is on the finger guard. They're hand stamped "C. Hubby" or "C. Huddy" near as I can make out.
The antler handled patch knife is the one I bought from rjohns94 off the FS Forum here and the sheathed set is a mini-bowie and a even smaller version (micro-bowie?). The only markings on those two are "Solingen" but I have no idea WHO made them or what purpose the itty-bitty bowie serves.

Beautiful knives. The handle really enhances the look of a knife for me and those knives have very nice handles.

Thanks, I feel the same way about knife handles. I discovered I collect/accumulate knives like this primarily for the handles. In fact, I'd like to know more about the knife Old Savage has in his sig line.KirkD wrote:Beautiful knives. I have a Gerber multi-tool on my hip daily and I added a working folder about a month and a half ago. I hate to see either get buggered up but those are my working tools. Knives like those in the case are to be looked at and admired as art IMO. It's art I can understand, appreciate and have a snowballs chance of emulating. Inspiration if you will.
I also chanced upon a vendor before leaving that same Tulsa show who was clearing out his stash of Axis deer antler pieces. I bought all he had for less than $2/ea so I can practice without fear of ruining more expensive pieces. Now I just have to figure out if they have to be sanded by hand or if a belt sander is appropriate...
