Heavy bullets in the B92 .357 mag. Part III Pics.

Please see my post from 12/25/08 titled "Heavy bullets in the B92 part II" for prior info and load development. The lower middle target represents the final and I feel ultimate development of the load featuring the 200gr Cast Performance WLNGC bullet and 296 powder in my rifle. As I suspected, the 14gr load was not sufficiently compressed for optimum performance. 15grs provided the necessary load density and subsequent compression. This load was assembled the same way as load two in my prior post. The target was shot at 50yrds from the bench as the prior targets were shot. The first shot to the right was the first bullet down the bore after shooting the Speer 158gr soft cast bullet yesterday. This bullet has some sort of coating(moly?). The first shot with the 200gr Cast Perf. bullet "cleaned" the residue from the bore. Sort of a fouling procedure. High velocity was 1615fps and low velocity was 1604fps at 12' from the muzzle. This would equate to approx. 1640fps-1631fps adjusted muzzle velocity give or take a little. This load in addition to having a smaller extreme spread is more accurate. AS ALWAYS THIS LOAD IS JUDGED TO BE SAFE IN MY RIFLE, NOT YOURS! I was able to pull the cases from the chamber with just a finger nail. Regards, 1886.

Sweet! Close to 1200 ft. lb.s of energy and very good accuracy. That's a great deer getter right there.

I just loaded up some more 180 XTP's over 13.5 gr.s of H110 for my Marlin 94CS. Going to the range tomorrow to sight that in and shoot a few others as well.
