Picked up my Trapper yesterday

Post by Borregos »

My buddy and I struck our deal and I picked up the Trapper in 44Mag yesterday :D :D :D
What a sweet little gun, can hardly wait to get to the range with it after Christmas, then it is going to be my daughters' to use.

That is purty. That trapper has even better wood than my first year .45 Colt Trapper. Really nice.
No safeties, hmmmmm, it would be easy to get rid of the rebounding action on that one.

Yes Joe, lack of all that safety stuff is good. :D
Will have to think seriously about getting rid of the rebounding hammer :!:

I like it! If I was to get one - that'd be the one I'd want I think. I like the Marlins too though...

All those squiggly lines in the wood - some folks think they're pretty - on the buttstock are probably from some kind of chemical leaching from a bad bluing job. Best thing to do is get rid of it before it rusts, and falls apart, and the stock warps.

I'd be willing to give you $25 for it as scrap metal, as a favor, but a friend of mine (doesn't have a phone, uses the same number as me) said he'd be willing to go as high as $35, since you're a nice guy. I'll wait for your call.

P.S. whatever you do, don't actually shoot it, it will probably be lots of fun, and that will just make it harder to part with. Besides, that little ringy-thing on the left side of the receiver is probably some important part they should've put inside the gun somewheres; might be dangerous to shoot it.

Yup ,what AJMD429 said +1. Without the safety they can go full auto and are very dangerous. I will up the bid to $40 !! :D

Great gun, the marlin I have at 100 yards shot the CCI Blazer in 44SPL (200 gr Gold Dot) the best. My daughter thought it was too heavy but my nephew loved it.

I have a 44 Mag 94 Trails End model. I really like it. I have that purty safty though. I really like it. Like every other Winny, it is a bit clunky, but I call that character.
