How Old Is My Marlin 336

I traded a guitar for a (Marlin Win, Model 336 .30-30) back in 1980 and the rifle was used at the time of the trade. I have kept that old rifle and would never part with it. I have been trying to find out when this rifle was made and have failed. On the barrel it says (est 1870-micro-groove barrel mod .336 cal .30-30) ssn 19003xxx .How do I find out this info. I would be thankful for any help.

A serial number would be handy. You can use xxx for the last 3 numbers if you want. I am sure somebody can give you a date of manufacture with that info. Merry Christmas!!

I guess your right the number is 19003xxx

Thanks Chuck 100yd, I guess I have my purchase date wrong. I must have made the trade end of 1981 not 1980.
