Is there a reason to go with the Taylor's over the Pedersoli built version at Dixie Gun Works (for $150 less) other than fit and finish (if there's a difference at all)?
If these walls could talk, I'd listen to the floor.
If you can afford it go wiht a Pedersoli. The other I tie brands are a little suspect in the internals and hardening, and if you see Pedratti on a gun figure it's a fish weight! EMF dropped Pedratti's as they had way too many returns. The internals are soft the breech blocks are not properly hardened, the firing pins are oversize and nout suited to smokless at all. If you want to shoot smokless you want a small or bushed firing pin.
Awp101,
I have one of Taylors '63 30" sporters with DST. Made by Armi-Sport. It is a nicely finished and reasonably accurate, HOWEVER,
the parts are not hardened. I had to replace the breechblock after a few hundred shots because the nipple was pushed out of line.
I'll sell you mine for $700 with Taylors best windage tang and globe sights, plus a .54 cal. NEI mold, Plus paper ctrg. making supplies & insructions.
E-Mail me for pics or call; 302-998-6262. I replaced it with a Shiloh Sharps and a Browning '85, both in .45-70.
