TV Westerns

Post by Rusty »

One of my favorite westerns was "The Guns of Will Sonnett."

For those interested I just found out you can now watch it on youtube.

Always cheyenne for me too. My wife also told me once when she was a little girl she had a crush on him. Well, I spotted him a few years ago, introduced him to her. Here they are.

Rusty - here's a question for you. How would I make a .wma file, or mp3 file, of that song (the theme song to "Rawhide"). Can it be done?

I'm not sure about making the file but I do know there is software avalible that will allow you to save a youtube clip to your hard drive.

I heard about that about two weeks ago on a Kim Komando daily update. You might go to her web site and try doing a search using youtube as the object of the search.

That Rawhide theme might make a cool ringtone??

The Rebel theme would make a neat ring tone.

My thoughts exactly! I found the reference on her site - thanks! Just need to do this on the personal computer. Work gets REALLY upset when an employee downloads any software on their workstation!

I can't believe Clint Walker is 81 years old. That ski pole never had a chance!

Back in the early 60s I was a studio cop for a short while at universal studios. It was a interesting job, got to meet a number of these guys. Most those guys were nice. A lot of other type actors wernt as nice as the western actors. Jimmy stewart, Brian keith, Broderick Crawford, James Arness, Clint Walker, Jack Lord, Mareen Ohara, are a few that come to mind. One day I was working on "The rare breed". I mentioned to another guy I see brian keith is supposed to be here, but havent seen him yet. The guy says, oh? Well I seen you BSing with him awhile ago for the last 10 minuets! He was made up and I didnt know who I was talking to! Saw him later and we had a good laugh over it. The next day he called me over and gave me a nice picture of him and old yeller. After I had talked to him the secound time I had mentioned that I had left a girl friend widow back home and by coiencidence her son was named "Brian Kieth". He had autographed the picture nicely and told me to send it to him. Jimmy Stewart bought lunch for me that day. They were on the same picture. Just remembering.

Ahh......! "Old Deadeye" Jack Elam. Nobody could play a heavy like he did in his early work except maybe Van Cleef. Poor guy got the deadeye at age 11 in a schoolyard scuffle. Jack brought only his fists and feet to a sharpened pencil fight. He became a succesful bookkeeper in LA but his doctor told him the strain of ciphering in dim light on the good eye would lead to blindness. So he traded his fee for keeping the books on a picture for a chance to be an extra and stunt double. The rest is history. There is nothing more humorous in the western genre than his later work with James Garner.
