today was yet another great range day !!

Post by new pig hunter »

wandered over to have morning coffee at the local range.

Put the target at 50 yards.
Pulled out the Winchester Trapper in .45LC.
Had the scope set for some hot loads, but today I was shooting some gentle Ten-X cowboy loads.
The first few shots were about 8 inches high and 3 inches to the left.
Adjust and shoot, adjust and shoot.
Finally got point of aim = point of impact.
Put lots & lots & lots of holes in many shoot-n-see targets, great fun.

Pulled out the Marlin 375.
Left the target at 50 yards.
Put lots & lots & lots of holes in many shoot-n-see targets, great fun. Nice tight groups.
Put a head of cabbage at 100 yards.
With the Marlin: one shot exploded the cabbage.

I surely do like that Marlin, it is now ready for some VAFB pig hunting with the box of Kali-legal ammo a very kind and very gracious friend prepared for me.

Cheers,

Carl

And now I'll bet you'll be shooting a few hogs along with the shoot n c targets.

I know I've had a few range sessions that stunk - broken guns, etc. But all in all, ANY day at the range is a great day!

Congrats!!! :D
