Need help pricing a 94 Trapper in 44Mag

Post by Borregos »

Friend of mine has a Winchester 94 Trapper in 44Mag, I want to buy it from him for my daughter to shoot, he will part with it for a fair price.
Condition is excellent and it is pre cross-bolt safety.
We need to settle on that fair price, I believe it should be in the $350 to $400 range.
Any comments :?: :?:
Thanks in advance for any replies.
Pete

Well, if a fair price is what he'd get putting it up on gunbroker... then it'd be closer to $650. Go take a look for yourself - only auctions with bids count of course. There are quite a few over $700...

These are quite the collectible version.

How about a nice Marlin? :)

350 to 400 is probably bottom dollar, if it is clean. I have one just like it, and I would be hard pressed to sell it for less then 500 or 600. They are not that easy to find.

If it is the Top Eject model of the early 80's, I believe the price might be more into the high 6's. If it's an AE model, then you are about right. But, that's based on my prejudice against the AEs.

$350-$400 would be a "steal" if that rifle is in top shape. People love those trappers. 1886.
