What are Winchester 1866 cleaning rods worth these days?

A widowed friend has four sets of Winchester cleaning rods (if I have IDed them correctly. I've attached a pic of one set, but they all look very similar to the pic) for the Winchester 1866 rifle. In looking around for pricing tonight, I've seen anywhere from $150ish to over $500. Can anyone here tell me what a reasonable market value for these is? I'm going to sell them for her, but want to make sure she gets a fair price without looking like a fool by valuing them too highly.

If they are "66's they should be in the $150-200.00 price range if they are all in the condition pictured. Her cost was $0, so $6-800.00 profit is fair.

I think you're in the ballpark. I don't see them locally often, but when I do they seem to sell in the $150-$250 range. So far I've never seen a set in really great shape. I had a set in the buttstock of a Win. 1876 I bought a couple years ago and was offered $200 for them. Of course I declined, as they needed to stay with the Winnie.

Thanks, guys. All the sets are in similar condition, as shown in my poor pics. She does have a Winchester 1866, so I'll have to make sure it isn't missing a set of rods. We found these in a cigar box in his office, but haven't found any documentation as to where he bought them, when, and what he paid.

Are these rods correct for the Henry rifle as well, or only the 1866? I've read that later Henries used a metal rod instead of the wooden segmented rod that you usually see, but I haven't seen any pics of the metal rod mentioned.

Oh man! #6 looks like a $500 job. A guy who has a very fine condtion '66 would pay 5 c-notes easily for a fine condition rod like that. Advertise each one on Guns America or Gunbroker.
Right now might be a bad time as most people are involved with Christmas, etc. Come January, the money people who have idle minds "get up off of it" and will gladly pay good bucks for items with "condition"---------------Sixgun
