The terrain sure was different. Kind of like antelope hunting, lots of flat sagebrush and rolling hills. Very hard to stalk. I used my 7mm rem mag over my 45-70 due to the long distance. My elk was about 325 yards and I haven't shot my 45-70 much over 200. I'll post pictures later. (cameras charging.)

Elk in the freezer
Well, second times a charm. After a long exhausting hunt in September, me and two others came home empty, but had a great time. I went back to Jackson, Wy over Thanksgiving and hunted on the elk refuge. Now before you say anything, it's not an easy hunt. Especially since there was no snow and the elk weren't migrating out of Yellowstone yet. My brother and I got two cows in three days after a lot of hiking around and avoiding other hunters. Saw lots of wildlife to include several bald eagles, moose, bison and a pack of wolves. The wolves were on the refuge so no S.S.S.
