Spencer !!!
I picked up a new Taylor Co. Spencer repeater and am gettng ready to shoot it. Since I bought this for fun i got one in 45 Schoefield rather than 56-50. Prior to this the only Spencer i ever shot was an original and I shot 1 (one) rimfire ctg that was made around 1910 in an original mint condition carbine. The Taylor seems to be well made and works smoothly and my B/P rounds with 24 grains of FFFG Schutzen willl go about 1150 for a 250 grain bullet in teh 20" tube. Factory 200 grain loads are like shooting 22's for recoil and will be a nice small game lload. I will need to widen the rear sight notch a little to get a good sight picture. This one willl look a little out of place in my rack of Winchesters, but since the Sppencer ended up a Winchester anyhow i guess they will all get along.

Re: Spencer !!!
Hmmm... I'm sensing a common theme coming out of the responses to this post. Wait... I think I have it. Nope, can't figure it out.
But for me, I'm looking forward to the pictures! I also have one, though in .44 Russian. Same thought - wanted one for shooting, and already reloaded the .44 Russian (and they didn't have a .45 Schofield when I got it). Like you said, no recoil to speak of, and fun to shoot.
Congratulations!

Here's a picture of mine to tide you guys over till KCSO shows his. Mine's a 56-50 and I shoot black powder loads in it. The target is from it's first range day last year. Pretty good shooter. Could do better with better sights.
