OT - Christmas lights - don't forget a blue bulb!

Post by Ysabel Kid »

Fellas -

A lot of you will be putting up Christmas lights - if you haven't already - in the next couple/few weeks. Don't forget to place at least one blue light out when you do. This symbolizes support for our men and women in blue, a.k.a., the "thin blue line", the folks in law enforcement.

We decorate with white lights outside, with a splash of some red and green in a couple different places. But I have a single "candle" light that is placed in the middle with a blue bulb. I've done this for a few years now, and have got the question at least once per year asking why that one is blue. Hopefully I've helped start traditions in other households!

Our LEO's serve a critical need in society. They are overworked, under-paid and under-appreciated. Their work is dangerous and sometimes deadly. The vast majority of them do the job, despite all of the negatives, for all of the right reasons. We owe them our thanks and support throughout the year.

To all the LEO's here - THANK YOU!
