Question on the Marlin 1894

Post by handirifle »

Are the 1894's as easy to disassemble and clean as the 336 is?

Yes - they just have the older style bolt.

Wait a minute ........ you're supposed ta clean 'em????? Wow, learn sompin new ever day.

1894s gots the same pieces as the 336s only different shapes and sizes.

You see, Marlin got their act together waaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyy back when and made most of their guns so similar any body could tinker with 'em.
Not like their competitor Winchester what made 'em all different and as complicated as possible.   John Browning lovers will get me for that one bwahahahahahahah .........

Yep - I just wish they made an Allen-head lever screw, so it wouldn't get as much wear as those infernal slot-headed screws do with repeated use...

I just repaced a receiver screw on a vintage 1889 with the modern equivalent from an 1894 - now THAT's some parts consistency!
