Had a great time at camp this year. We generally have a ton of does and the bucks are limited in number. Not this year. I saw more bucks than does in total numbers. The second day of hunting I killed a nice seven point that weighed 142#. I killed it with one of those evil bolt guns so I am not submitting a picture of it. This one was shot with my Win 1886 Extra Lite using LeverEvolution. He was only about eighty yards away and quartering away and down. I hit him just right of the back bone and behind the shoulder. He truly was a DRT. When I cleaned and skinned him, the bullet took out about four inches of his ribs and backbone and turned his heart and lungs to mush. He weighed 191# and was a seven point. One point had been broken off, so he wasn't an eight. I know that is not a particularly big deer to most of you. However for this part of the country and especially where we hunt, Eastern North Carolina it is a big deer. It is the biggest one we have killed by about thirty pounds. I also killed a couple does for the freezer with the bolt gun, but again we won't talk about them.
I am 6'3" tall and weigh 300lbs. so he doesn't look that big. He measured 6' from nose to tailbone.

Nice deer!
I want to see a pic of the other one taken with the evil boltaction.
Is that your first deer with the LE? I'd imagine your sold on that round.
That which does not kill me has made a grave tactical error.
Good for you! Great hunt!!
We just got back from WA.`s late buck hunt also with 1 buck for three hunters. There was a bad winter kill in our hunting area last year. We have to take witetail only. Don`t you know there were Mulies all over the place.

This was the first deer I have killed with LE ammo. It defiantly did the job.

You not only make the deer look small, you make that 1886 look like a 92
Ya, you ought to see this big old, with emphasis on old, body get up these sixteen foot ladder stands we have. It's getting harder and harder every year.
