Karma?

Dont know if you are a believer in Karma, dont know if I am, but have you ever noticed if you do something good out of the kindness of your heart, pretty soon something good happens to you.

Last week my wife and I happened upon two small dogs, no tags but obviously well cared for, we knew someone out there had a broken heart. We kept them over night and found the owner next morning thru an ad she had placed in the classifieds lost and found. A reunion with her doggies brought many tears of joy, she had offered a reward but of course we refused it.

Today the lady, local real estate broker we found out, shows up with a nice thank you card. We opened it after she left and found a nice gift card to Olive Garden.

Then this afternoon out of the blue a shooting buddy drops by to give me a full quart can of Kroil!! Seems it followed him home from work.

Had any good experiences lately? Might take another look at that Karma thing.

Looks like our folks raised us right. I feel bad if I inadvertantly fail to hold open a door for another. It doesn't matter age or sex. Just the way I was raised. Sadly, lots of folks weren't raised right. But that just means those of us that were have to make up for the rest.

Yep - that's what's kept me going many times in a profession which is losing income and losing social stature. You use whatever talents God gave you to help people (and EVERYONE has some sort of talent someone else needs), and likely someone will return the favor someday.

I am the most god forsaken looking guy here in yuppieville.
I see shock on others faces all the time when I do something nice for others.
I have helped others when other people are standing around just watching
someone who could use a hand, always offered freely.

Karma? 100% Karma is what keeps me from pounding some people into the ground. Instead of working rotten people over with a baseball bat and loosing my right to own guns, I just keep in mind that sooner or later they will get run over by a train or kiss a Kenworth head on doing 90. 'Ya get this way living in the East---people make you hate them.

I don't know about y'all but I know I've been a born again Christian for 40 years. One thing I've found out in all that time is that you can't out give God.

Being able and willing to do right is what God wants us to do. I know that as a christian God expects this from me and thanks me in so many ways.

How a person was raised can't be judged by their actions. Many people are raised in a God-fearing/Church-going environment and taught the niceties of society and then turn out as a bad penny in life while others who come from the pits of of a cesspool, turn out to be a beacon of light in the darkness for others to follow on the path to a good/decent life.

Karma is a concept that most, if not all, religions have touched on in there own way over the years. Several members said that don't believe in Karma, but they believe in something that is karma-like. With the thought of what is being called Karma is nearly universal I find its appeal (no matter what you call it) undeniable.
I would like to touch on what was mention in a previous post:

You must remember, though, that Karma (God's Will, kismet, providence or any other name you wish) has neither hands nor feet with which to balance the scales and someday you may be called on to do so on its behalf. Of course Randy on "My Name is Earl" said it much better than that.

I don't give to get but find I get more than I give. At least that's my perception. E.g. we did two cakes for a benefit cake walk last night. I got to smell 'em without carrying them around my middle today.

Not to put too fine a point on it:

If you give to get .....just to get ....you don't get. If you just give to get ---- it's just a business transaction.
God is not in that business.

The Lord means us to be a conduit. Blessings are to flow through us to others.

I must have really irritated the "karma-giver" lately. I am on my third laptop this month from work. My original one never gave me a problem until recently, when it starting slowing down horribly. Got to the point where I couldn't open up any documents (Word, Excel, etc.) embedded in an e-mail. I sent it back to be "restaged" (removing my data and placing it on another workstation). They did this but apparently moved over whatever was causing the problems because it started slowing down immediately. We then had a update to our VPN access last Friday, and when I tried to apply it my replacement laptop wouldn't accept it - and stripped off my old access. I had to use dial-up for a few days - boy do I feel sorry for you guys stuck with that as your only means of going to the internet! So they send me a third one, and I still have the second one here. The third one had the new VPN software loaded, but won't accept my data from the second one. So now I need to send them both in!

Worse yet, one of these units encrypted a bunch of my files. I suspect it was the second one. Even worse, it also encrypted a ton of my files on my personal data storage device (external hard drive). I am in the process of typing this note on the third one while "decrypting" files and folders on the second one. I have ALL of my personal stuff on that external drive - family photos, tax records - and all my firearms records. I figure at the rate it is going, I'm going to be up all night long.

Bad karma - big time!
