Has anyone hardchromed a 94?
Wondering how this might have turned out?

Thanks Salvo - I saved that pic - very nice rifle. That seems like one of the best things to do with a 94 that has surface damage that can be picked up very reasonable.

Winchester had a number of them hard chromed by several different jobbers. My brother worked on them, everything including the springs were plated. The springs were nickle plated. They fitted some with black stocks and some with wood stocks. I believe they were intended for waterborn use. Don't know the exact number but I believe his shop did over two hundred. similar to their Mariner shotguns. Looked pretty when finished and if there was the slightest flaw, Winchester hollered pretty good about sending them back and getting them right. This was after the year 2000. Don't remember all the details. It does make a pretty weather proof finish. The big thing is who does the work. Hope this helps.
