.358 bore

Well, the .358 bore is clean and in good shape, so I cleared that hurdle.

Let me recommend Hornady 100 grain Spire Points and IMR 4198 powder. I got such great accuracy with that combination, I quit looking for an accuracy load and have shot nothing else in over 12 years.

I'll second the 200 grain Spire point and 4198. It a good combo, Ive taken a Ram and Red Stag with that load. Both dropped in their tracks. I have a list of 15 different loads for the 358 Win that I plan to work up and try this fall and winter. I've collected a few different powders and bullets and need to start loading some up.

The IMR 4198 load that I use was one of the first two or three loads that I tried with my new .358 Win BLR. It shot so well I quit searching for a better group. I'll be honest, the rifle already shoots better than I do! Why try to imporve on that?

I'm not necessarily trying to improve it. It's just something I want to do. I have a some 200, 225, and 250 bullets I want to try. Plus it makes for some good trigger time. Also, I pretty hard headed and have to find things out for myself  .
