Went to the Sportsmans Warehouset today--Wow!!

Post by Thunder50 »

Plenty of guns, but thats the only thing they had plenty of. Ammo was minimal. Out of most calibers, pistol and rifle, and some shotgun stuff left. Powder and bullets and primers were another story. They had some 8 lb'ers left , but only about 10 cans of one pound each. Some 4 lb caddies. Most everything gone. Some Red Dot, Green Dot, Universal Clays (1) and International clays (1) and a few others. Most rifle powders gone, most primers gone and maybe 20% left of the bullets in stock. Very little brass..

Another store had 6 - one lb containers of powder and the other had a decent stock of 1 lb cans, but nothing larger and decent stock on primers ($33/K) and guns.

Heard people buying guns that have not bought one in 20 years, a first time handgun buyer ( 27 Smith), and all stores were busy. Insta-check was 2hr wait.

Yep, Its that way here in Pa. My buddy Tom thanks Obama for his 50K a day business receipts. All black rifles, short shotguns, auto handguns and short revolvers are flying out the door. I popped in there today around 2 oclock and laughed my butt off. Tom has 5 counter guys and each one looked beat. Each counter guy had a phone to his ear for NICS.

While they were selling guns, I had to help out on the "gunmachine" in the back room. We made a couple of thousand AR-15 6920 LE's with special order quad rails with Aimpoints. Then we made a few hundred MIA's with 16" barrels. Tomorrow, we will hit the "revolver" button and turn out some 642 'Smiths.

I went to the storage locker to see if I needed any more primers, after all the hoopla over runs on the stores. I counted up over 25K, so I guess I'm set for a few weeks! :D

I understand that the 6940 is a monolithic upper over the direct gas system. They should have the first 100 out in December.

Can't wait for a monolithic with piston system!

Yea, its going to be a direct gas system but hey, its a proven design. About the only thing different is the integrated rail system. 50 have been made and 500 will be available in the first couple of weeks of Dec. Price will be about $300 more. I don't care, I gettin' one for myself and my son is gettin' one. By the time they are available to the public, Osama will have outlawed 'em.-----------------------------Sixgun
