450 grains of powder and 4 ounces of buckshot!

No wonder the Old Sailing Navy and Privateersmen referred to them as Murdering Pieces!!!!

Why that's just Elmer Keith's squirrel load Doc....no big deal! :wink: (no offense meant to Elmer fans, of which I am one).

That ain't so!!

You know good and well that Elmer would have used that 4-ounce ball on squirrel to keep from having to pick buckshot out of the meat. I think he broke a tooth on a piece of shot once.

I think he limited his use of buckshot to quail and pheasant on the wing. But only when they wouldn't let him use his .44 RemMag six-gun. :twisted:

450 grains? Heck, how does he afford to feed that beast?!? :shock:
