Re: Got my calendar today!!
Mine came last week, and I agree - it is a beauty! It is also, without bias, the finest calendar I have seen. The pages are heavy card construction. The envelope it arrived in was also heavy construction with a very stiff and thick piece of cardboard to ensure that the calendar did not get mangled or folded in any way.

Re: Got my calendar today!!
Gents, I finally received mine this week as well. The only thing I noticed is that the photos were cropped more than I expected, but overall I'm pleased. Next year, I want to do a calendar on 'Old Timers', which will feature old guns from the last half of the 1800's. Included will be old sixguns, a few old levers, a Springfield Model 1888, and others yet to be determined (an old Spencer would be lovely). At this point, I only have 6 photos or old guns to photograph, so I'm going to need to look further abroad for the remaining 6. I think that I'm going to put out a call for photos, but that will be in a separate thread after Christmas that I will post on a few different sites. On the other hand, I've got wind of a very serious collector of old firearms that lives a mere 15 minutes from my house. It sounds like he has a gold mine of old firearms to photograph.

Is this the same calendar that Wolfe Publishing has for sale? They have one with lever actions rifles featured for sale in my latest copy of Handloader Magazine.

Re: Got my calendar today!!
Kirk, weren't you also going to do a John Deere catalog? If so, I should have one ready by the middle of 2009. A JD 1941 "H" that I am completely restoring. The reason its taking me so long is that the poor thing hasn't run since 1948 according to the previous owner. So far, I have been working on it for 3 whole weeks and so far, I only have the breaks rebuilt, axles serviced, and transmission rebuilt.
BTW, love the calender. Its like a pinup that leaves a longer impression.

Re: Got my calendar today!!
Morgan, I've only just started photographing classic John Deere tractors. A couple weeks ago, I bagged my first photo of a John Deere Model 50. The collector was out plowing with it and let me plow with it for about 1/2 an hour. What a great experience! I just love the sound of those 2-cylinder engines working. He's also got a Model B in restoration, and another neighbor has a beautifully restored Model G. When you get your 'H' done, I'd love to include it in the John Deere calendar.morgan in nm wrote:Kirk, weren't you also going to do a John Deere catalog?
