Range Day

Post by Paul Jenkins »

Spent 3 hrs at the range today making sure I could hit , and that my pistol , ammo combination functioned together. At 15yds
Using a S&W.38 spl Cheifs Special, a .38 spl Combat masterpiece, and a .380 Makarov, I can shoot 3" or less with a rest
and maybe double that offhand. 100 rds .38 spl and 50 .380. No malfunctions. I won't win any matches, but I can take a head off or a heart out if I need to. I carry because I would like to have it and not need it, rather than need it and not have it. Surprisingly, I can shoot the cheapo Makarov the best. And I can have 9rds ready . 8 in the mag. and 1 in the chamber.

[At 15yds]

Heck - That's LONG RANGE, Paul ! If you shot someone that far away in my state, some ambitious DA might prosecute, saying the dirtbag was no immediate danger. ;)

Some of those Makarovs are excellent shooters. I had a pair of East German guns that were great. Really wish I'd kept at least one of them.
