I've been meaning to post this for several weeks, but got, er... distracted with what was going on in the nation concerning the presidential race. Sorry for the delay!
A few weekends ago I was sitting in church with the family listening to the priest's homily and he wrapped it up with something I thought was very profound. He said:
"When you are called to heaven, there will be no Catholics at the table."
He paused for effect - and being in a Catholic church, you can imagine everyone was now listening intently, even those you may have, ahem, not have been paying as close attention as they should have been before.
He went on. "There will be no Bapists either. No Methodists, Lutherans or Episcopalins. No Christians at all."
Okay, now he really has everyone's rapt attention. Another pause.
"No, there will only be our Lord and the sinners that He has saved."
A wonderful sermon!
