Dropped by the local gun shop over the weekend....and what did I find?

3 Browning A5 shotguns in PRISTINE condition....big time drool. All 12 ga. All with beautiful wood and engraving. $450 - $600. I'm working the Mrs. on one of these...
2 Winchester 71's....1 in 218 Bee and the other in 25-35??? I'm not sure on that last chambering. But I do remember the price...$2400. It was in excellent condition. I'm pretty sure they were 71's. Pistol grips, half length mag tubes. Definately Winny's.
2 sporterized 1898 Krags. Both in pretty good shape. Not bubbatized lately. Old school gunsmithing. Very nicely done.
1 Savage 99D in .250 Savage w/original Lyman peep sight.- How do I convince Mrs. Stew that I NEED this rifle...??? Gawd this must be what a heroin addict feels like....
1 1899 Savage 99 in 30-30......drool factor off the scale. The gunsmith wasn't going to depart with this one, me thinks.....
1 Remington 721 Presidential Trophy Rifle - 30-06, fully engraved, Lyman target sights...presented to the winner of the 1973 Naval Academy Pistol Competition. --- $2800..... (if I only had the cash for this one. I'm pretty sure is was a 721. Where's my checkbook....credit card?)
Several custom Model 98 Mausers, hand-carved wood...8mm, 30-06, 9.3mm....got the cold sweats with these beauties...
3 or 4 custom pre-64 Model 70's...1 chambered in....breathe...breathe....300 H &H....yes I'm a SUCKER for obsolete calibers...
An original Winny 1886 in 45-90. No....I couldn't afford a second mortgage on that one.....or could I????
2 Browning 1885 High Walls....1 in 454 Casull, and the other in 45-70. Both far more than a monthly car payment....WAY WAY WAY more....

Alas....it was not to be. Just don't have the funds right now. So I bought 250 rounds of Federal XM193 223Rem for my CZ527.... Hey it was on sale, man.

Winchester 64's, not 71's. They didn't make the 71 in 218 Bee nor in 25-35 to the best of my knowledge. Lovely rifles anyway. Basically the 64 is a pistol gripped '94.

The .218 Bee was probably a variation of the 1892, not the 64. I think they were the 55? Not really up on Winnies.

The 218 Bee might have been a '92 but the 25-35 would have been a '64 - it's WAY too long for the '92 action... I don't know much about the bee, I thought it was a longer cartridge - but what do I know?

There are several possibilities here. Either they both were model 64's, one in 219 Zipper and the other in 25-35 or.........they were both model 65's, one in 218 Bee and the other in 25-20 or.............one was a 65 in 218 bee and the other was a 64 in 25-35. My bet would be the last one------------Sixgun
