Forgive me brothers,

Post by Nath »

Tomorrow I make my trade in with the trapper
I tried and tried.
I took stock of the facts.
After around 500 bullets, powder and primers, this and that mod it turns out I have only taken 20 odd fox and a deer with it!
My first trapper was never this bad and I should of kept it!
I think it has a bad barrel, eccentric or not stress relieved correctly maybe.
My old trapper would I remember take crows at 150yds regular but not this baby, no Sir.

I will be replacing it with a Rem 700 sps 20" 308 and will load it somewhere around 30/30 ballistics because it's so sweet to shoot.

I am keeping my 9422 thats for sure, no way is that going! So I guess I'm still a levergunner.

There is a brand new Forster bonanza 30/30 seater die if anybody is interested, make me an offer if so.

Sorry guys, I tried.

Nate.

Nath, it happens. Items that don't perform as they should.......need to find a new home.

Keep us posted on the new toy!

Ditto - no point in keeping a gun that won't shoot (or shoot straight) unless it has some special meaning in your life. Hopefully another lever will come along soon!

Like the guys already told you, Nath, it happens. When you get a chance, post a photo when you can. So, how much hassle is it to sell/trade and acquire a new rifle over in your neck of the woods? :?:

No problem Nath, you have to feel good about your smoke pole.
I still like you.

What I have to do is; take the gun to a dealer or sell it private to a person authorised to buy said gun.
Armed with a receipt send a form in with my licence requesting for a variation to my licence supplying good reason for the variation and wait for it's return.
With a favourable reply return to the dealer to complete the deal.
Usually it is pretty quick and straight forward.

I will keep the camera going, maybe the 22 will get out more know I can stop wasting time testing and get out hunting more :)

We have all had a good gun and let it go... (if you haven't, you will). All is forgiven.
Sincerely,

Hobie

Do what you must, but I still think it would be easier on your Certificate if you just ordered a new barrel...
