OT Don't shoot anyone up the nose!

Post by gamekeeper »

Just thought I post this to let you all know how safe we are in our GUN FREE society in Nanny Land. If anyone has a Cuno Melcher 9mm, sell it and buy a .45!

A man who was shot in the head at close range was saved from death by his nose which stopped the bullet.
Man Saved From Death By Nose Daniel Greenwood, 19, survived being blasted in the head at close range as he struggled with robber David Cummins, who had pulled a gun.

Cummins, 21, shot his victim with a 9mm Cuno Melcher gun when he tried to snatch a gold chain from around his victim's neck at a house in Manchester, on March 22, Manchester Crown Court was told.

As they struggled, the gun accidentally went off.

Although doctors were able to remove the bullet, Mr Greenwood - from Old Trafford, Manchester - still suffers flashbacks, sleeplessness and headaches.

GP Sarah Jarvis told Sky News Online that the man had a lucky escape.

She said: "The nose is mainly made up of cartilage, but at the top you have got bone. If you point a gun straight up a nostril, a bullet would have to travel through a lot of bone in order to get into the skull. Bone is hard and very strong, so in this case it sounds like it slowed the bullet down enough not to have been fatal."

Cummins, who admitted robbery and possession of a firearm was given an indeterminate prison sentence, with a minimum of six years' jail for possession of a firearm.

The prosecution accepted Cummins, of Woodhouse Park, Manchester, never intended actually to fire the gun.

So much for the 9mm, just good for a nose job.

I seem to recall Mr. B mentioning a run in with the big C.

I'd guess that photo might document the beginning of a reconstructive effort.

Gee, you think?

Yeah, the 9mm is indeed a .45 set on stun (priceless NKJ! :D ), but I imagine snorting a traveling bullet would tend to give a fella a headache afterwards!

I fought skin cancer since 1985 with about 13 seperate opperations, always takeing off a little piece. They had always told me it wasnt a fatal threat. A year ago they changed their tune and said I had 2 months to 2 years if I didnt go all the way and get it cut off. Since I recently got married to a 17 year younger wife, I figuered I had to go for it. I am not sure I would have if still single. I got it took off last december. So far in the year since I had 4 major opperations and one to go. What they do is cut the nose off, use "Moe?" surgery where they take slices and check them as they go to see if they got all cancer. They had to go farther then hoped. They take and build kind of a framework with grisle from my ribs and some from behind your ears. Then they actualy "scalped" me on top the head, twist the scalplock and put the flap over the framework of grisel. Thats the 1st opperation. Then I hid out waiting for the next. They leave the scalp attached to the forhead, and untill the next opperation you look like you have a elephant trunk. The 2nd opperation they cut that to look semi-normal. After that I had two more opperations to look normal. I take blood thinner and had to get off that for 5 days each side of the 4 opperations. They give me 2 shots a day of lubinox shots in the gut to substitute the warfarin blood thinner. I had to go to emergency twice to save my life when I got huge nosebleeds that wouldnt stop. Once right after the 2nd operation I went to emergency in my town and they had to tear my new nose apart to save me. That envolved going back to salt lake to repair the incident. Then 3 months ago I was working outside, got my feet tangeled and fell flat on my face, badly breaking my nose again. I am waiting till the snow hits, as I need another operation to bore out my nostril on one side as it has grown together and I can only breath through my mouth.
Its been a hell of a year boys. When I wasnt too bad I still had to hide out for quite awhile and its made a slugg of me! I also have to shave my nose!
That will teach ya all to ask! By the way, I haff pictures if you have the stomach for it! But now I look near normal. Thanks for asking!
