OT - Parkerized finish back to blued finish?

If a rifle has been Parkerized instead of reblued can it be refinished back to a blued rifle?.....or is it ruined? I have a potential project that looks like it has been totally, including sights, parkerized, but don't want to start if it's trashed to begin with.

Yes it can, I have never done it, but I own a Smith & Wesson Victory model that was originally a Parkerized finish and now is a high polish blue. The man I bought it from had the work done at Ford's Custom Gun Refinishing http://www.fordsguns.com/
