1885 Win. Trappers

Gun store not too far from me has a couple of these. One in 32-40 and the other in 38-55. Guess some of the last produced before Winchester went belly-up. Interesteing looking, but barrel looks so short on the gun, I thought someone had cut them off, but they said they were factory jobs. $1,400.00 ea if anyone is interested.

Bet they are loud when fired.

Saw one at Guns and Ammo in Memphis recently in 45-70. Had to do a double take. They DO look pretty cool though.

I have seen a couple of them. They look like a great idea. However the rifles are very Plain Jane, and extremely over priced. Just my opinion. If I wanted one I would wait a little. That price would have to come down. Tom.

Handled one in .45-70. That must be one h-ll of a hand full. Still trying to figure out what advantage is has over a fast handling lever but who ever said practicality was a virtue? 1886.

Funny you should post that. I saw one out in Colorado and I must admit that the Trapper in an '85 single shot has got to be the most worthless reintroduction of a Winchester I have ever saw. Yea, I know the "float yo boat" thing, but I still say its worthless.------------Sixgun

There were originals as well. The .38-55 would be a relatively good one to have with relatively "kind to the ears" muzzle blast.

Not if it's anything like Puzzle One! (trapper 94 in .38-55) I shot it w/o hearing protection... once.
