Now I ain't no cast bullet user (yet) but today at work I had the job of punching 1" thick rubber with a 15mm punch and was thus getting big airgun pellet shaped stampings so for fun I got some stainless tube that the pellet were a snug fit in and hand held an air line to the breech. Using young Tom to work the tap it was popping them out good
The thing is what a difference lube makes! Moose milk was good and so was neat oil but there was most certainly a difference and it made me wonder if say a cast bullet shooter has bad luck with a combo if he changed the bullet lube it may just make the difference!
Did the same thing with IIRC 3/8ths x 3/8ths inch steel slugs from a punch press..a little paper around the slug.. inserted in seamless 1/2 inch pipe threaded to accept pipe reducer & plumbed to the air spray nozzle...made a nice dent in the steel siding from about 20ft.. oiled the paper.. next shot through the siding
