Do any of you guys take one of those small flask’s
along out in the woods with you?

If so what’s the liquid of choice you fill it with?

My "small flask" is a 20 oz Diet Pepsi bottle filled with Diet Pepsi!

My "flask" is always water! Never drink any alcohol until the guns are put away for the day!

When the weather is frigid, a 50ml bottle of Christian Brothers Brandy...will warm both the spirit and the toes.

my flask has 101 wild turkey in it, but it is only used in camp, after the hunting day is done. When hunting from home, I always put a fire out back in the pit, pull up a chair and have a bit of the dirty birdy, and stogey the night of a hunt. Tomorrow night will be no different, perhaps with a backstrap on the grill, or a pot of limb bacon stew on the fire. And biscuts, I can taste the biskets.

+1...However, after the end of a good day of hunting(after the weapons are put away) A little quality "Sour Mash" ...Basil Hayden or Knobb Creek...in moderation :) is a mighty fine way to end the day...

The reason I ask is, I always see those little metal
flasks for sale in the hunting sections of sporting
Good stores.

For me it’s my old Stanley thermos of hot
“black” coffee when it’s cold out.

When it’s warm out, it’s a canteen of H20.

The last several years I've hunted on my own place so I just leave canteens of water in the tree stands or ground blind. when it gets empty I'll haul it home. No little flask here. Maybe an old fruit jar when i get back to the house.

During the hunt, alertness counts.

After the hunt, I usually have a fair drive ahead of me.

That said, I DO carry a small flask... filled with straight (90+%) grain alcohol.

Bad things can happen BEFORE you take a drink, and sometimes having both an antiseptic & pain killer is a good thing...

I have taken some Brandy out with me. It is employed when the drips start and coughing is imenent - a little in the throat is very effective at quelling the cough. No apologies.

Sloe Gin is a regular hip flask filler in the UK. A real good winter warmer. :D

A hip flask of Blackberry Brandy for when the hunt is over.

If the weather is cold I'll take a small thermos of coffee, otherwise is just a water bottle.
