OT - Missed it by That Much...

Dang. Just found out that one of the local "biopreserves" is culling again this year.

30 acres, in town, full of does, and 3 blocks from my condo. Can't get in this year.

Fortunately the Property Manager is in my Rotary club. I'm making sure I break out the Bow and hang a stand next year.

I found out a year or two ago that in Green Bank, WV on the grounds of the National Radio Astronomy Lab they have control hunts every year. The problem is you have to be a WV resident to get in on it. They take you out on the property in a golf cart and put you in a stand. come back and get you in a hour or so.

See, these are the same deer that visit my feeder... and that I would be more than happy to snipe from my bedroom window if I were allowed (gun)... but arrowing one from the same window would insure it died on someone's lawn... and that's bad juju.

But the preserve (where they yard up) is mostly under fence. So unless they are bolting for a choke point they won't make it to the surrounding neighborhood with a 50yd dash.

SO this could be kinda cool... so long as I don't use a deer-drag from the property to my house.
