Political- What's with these guys??

Post by Rusty »

A friend of mine e-mailed me something he got from the NRA that quotes This "American Hunters and shooters Assn." then I went and looked at their web site: http://www.huntersandshooters.com/

I can't believe the stuff these people are putting out.

Has anyone ever heard of this bunch before?

Anyone here a member?

They are a pro-gun restriction (anti-gun) shadow organization of, by and for "I've got my trusty double barreled Shotgun and that's all I need" Fudds & wannabes like John Kerry.

American Shooters & Hunters Assn and the media
Posted by David Hardy · 26 January 2007 11:00 PM
I've mentioned American Shooters & Hunters Association -- which is basically an antigun group flying false colors, here and here and here. For Pete's sake, it's not even a good "false colors" operation: it was founded by a Brady Campaign director, with Brady's agenda.

ABC News just ran a piece on Bloomberg's mayors' group, claiming that it's a "gun rights group":

"The head of the American Hunters and Shooters Association, Ray Schoenke, said that gun rights "extremists," including the National Rifle Association, have taken positions that have "tarnished" the reputations of hunters and shooters... He is the first gun rights advocate to join the mayors in their cause."

“Restoring Pride in America’s Hunting and Shooting Heritage”?
That’s the mission of an organization, the American Hunters and Shooters Association (AHSA). And while this mission is hardly offensive or even suspicious, the make-up of this organization is nothing short of alarming. The President of the AHSA Foundation, John Rosenthal, blasted Massachusetts gun maker Smith & Wesson for advertising during New England Patriots football games. The ads promote gun safety and the company's Web site. Why the hysteria? Does the President of the AHSA Foundation believe that firearms are not legitimate products?

One of the most significant disconnects between what AHSA states and what AHSA does, can be seen in the baseless lawsuits against the firearms industry. AHSA has publicly endorsed the Protection of Lawful Commerce In Arms Act, stating “AHSA believes gun manufacturers, distributors and dealers should not be held civilly liable solely for the criminal acts of third parties who injure or kill innocent victims. Manufacturers, distributors or dealers who knowingly and willfully violate the law or conduct themselves in an unlawful manner should not be immune from civil liability.” However, Robert Ricker, executive director (AHSA) and Joe Vince, board member (AHSA), have been paid witnesses against the firearms industry in municipal suits in California, Washington, D.C. and New York City (including the “City of New York v. Beretta U.S.A. Corp. et al” case which is still pending).

Bogus anti-gun “sportsmen’s” group endorses…Obama!
By see-dubya • April 21, 2008 06:18 PM This has been percolating through several of the blogs I read–a “sportsmen’s group” dedicated to the right not to own handguns has plumped for the Obamessiah. The delightfully snarktastic S. Weasel is not particularly surprised:...

These guys are slick operators...and know how to spin the propaganda; and influence public perception. This same crew, also understands that ultimate political power...grows out of the barrel of a gun.

Depriving you of your weapons is an essential step in their agenda.

Beware.

My favorite descriptive quote is: The Brady Campaign in flannel
"People who object to weapons aren't abolishing violence, they're begging for rule by brute force, when the biggest, strongest animals among men were always automatically 'right.' Guns ended that, and social democracy is a hollow farce without an armed populace to make it work."

Yep, these turds are just a leftist front group to suck in gullible Democrat and Independent gun-owners by pretending to be "pro-sportsman". Personally, any gun owner who would join this bunch or give them a thin red dime needs to have his guns taken away - he or she is obviously too stupid to be trusted with a dangerous weapon!
